COUNCIL officials who wanted to hire contract bird killers to rid
their town of a pigeon problem have backed down after threats from
animal rights extremists.
Trowbridge Town Council, Wiltshire, came under fire after hiring
marksmen to shoot the birds, which it says are causing huge problems
in the town centre.

systems with their droppings and is worried they could spread
disease.

exterminated, it received threats from animals rights extremists and
has decided to put the plan on hold while it looks for an
alternative solution.
