A MOBILE phone menace has been cut off after making 199 malicious
false alarm calls to the emergency services in Birmingham in a
month, it has been revealed.
The unknown caller was responsible for countless wasted journeys
by fire crews until they successfully lobbied for his line to be
terminated.
The case has come to light as firefighters in the West Midlands
battle to stem the number of false alarms made from mobile
telephones.
And fire safety officers today warned that they would not
hesitate to ask service providers to cut off other users responsible
for malicious false alarms.
