Article: Swamped by video game outlets

WHILE Taman Alam Jaya in Cheras has been described by residents as the `Vegas of KL', those who live in nearby Taman Suntex feel the same way too.

It may sound like an exaggeration, but residents there feel seven is too big a number for the video game arcades in their commercial centre.

They recently claimed that most of the outlets open almost round- the- clock, closing at their operator's whims.

They pointed out that the arcades were disguised by signboards of opticians, furniture shops and electrical goods shops.

"The owners are clever. They close whenever their agents get information on local council raids," said resident V. Supramaniam.
