AS the filming of Hollywood movie Anna, starring Jodie Foster and
Chow Yun-Fatt, begins this month in Penang and Perak, The Malay Mail
goes down memory lane by talking to two local actors who had fairly
plum roles in foreign films also shot in those northern States
earlier this decade.
Today, we talk to Hani Mohsin who, along with his then wife Tiara
Jacquelina, had supporting roles in British director John Boorman's
Beyond Rangoon.
Tomorrow, Ramona Rahman shares her experiences as the female lead
in Fifty-Fifty which was helmed by American actor Charles Martin
Smith.
Ironically, both Fifty-Fifty (released in 1993) and Beyond Rangoon
(1995) were banned from screening here.
