DUST, sweat and tears ... those words best describe the anguish and agony of Malaysia's Team 2020 at the finishing line of the 1998 Eco-challenge adventure race in Morroco.

Chan Yuen Li, 32 - the only woman in the four-member team - led her charges to become the first team from Asia to complete the race.

"We had the advantage of being mature and quick in reacting to situations. Most of us went on a cycle of high and low emotions." She said the race was gruelling and most of her team-mates were worn out in the non-stop event.
