Article: Deadly spider found by women walkers ; Aussie killer in woods

A DEADLY spider has been found in woodland by two women out walking.

The venomous funnel web spider was discovered inside a jam jar in the Wyre Forest near Kidderminster.

The jar had a Perth International Airport sticker and it is thought the spider may have been brought into the country by someone returning from holiday in Australia.

After the discovery on Saturday the spider was taken into the care of the West Midlands Safari Park, at Bewdley, but has since died.

Bob Lawrence, head warden at the Park, said today: 'The spider was in a jam jar and very dehydrated when it was found.

'We do not know whether this was the only one discarded, but they would not survive the severe low ...
