PATIENTS suffering from sleep disorders and eye problems will get
a GBP 250,000 boost in the latest bid to cut hospital waiting lists.
News of the cash injection comes at a time when some people are
waiting for more than two years for an appointment at the Royal
Infirmary's Scottish National Sleep Laboratory.
The sleep lab - threatened with closure after a funding wrangle
two years ago - will get GBP 120,000 from Lothian Health to speed up
appointments.
And the Infirmary's Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion is getting GBP
137,000 to help cut its outpatient and surgical waiting times.
