EDINBURGH celebrated winning the Inter-District Under-21 Champ
ionship against Glasgow at Meggetland last night, but only after
coming back from a horrendous first six minutes to win 35-20.
In that first period, Glasgow scored three tries, two of them by
Rory Couper who, ironically, plays his club rugby at Meggetland.
The winger scored his first almost from the kick-off as the
forwards drove and he was released on the blindside. Two minutes
later, slick passing down the line from a scrum 40 metres out saw
him outpace the defence to score. As David Frame notched the third,
Glasgow seemed able to score at will and Edinburgh's hopes seemed in
tatters with a 17-point deficit to overcome.
