TWO Scottish brothers were catapulted into the ranks of Britain's
richest men today after the company they founded was snapped up for
GBP 81 million.
John and Hugh Boyle joined the ranks of the super rich when
holiday giant Airtours stepped in to buy their firm, Direct Holidays.
The deal went ahead just weeks after the firm's cruise division,
Direct Cruises, found itself at the centre of a Legionnaire's Disease
scare aboard the cruise ship SS Edinburgh Castle.
Two people who had travelled on the ship at different times
developed the disease - but no link between the ship and the
passengers illness has been proved.
John Boyle stands to pick up GBP 42m from today's deal, while his
