THE decision of successive home secretaries that Moors murderer
Myra Hindley must spend the rest of her life in jail with no hope of
parole was today ruled lawful by the Court of Appeal.
The ruling was a victory for Home Secretary Jack Straw whose
lawyers argued that "pitiless and wicked" killers like Hindley, who
has already served 32 years in prison, "should be punished for the
rest of their days" and never released.
Three judges dismissed Hindley's appeal against last December's
declaration by three High Court judges, led by Lord Bingham, the
