PATIENTS awaiting partial hip replacements in the Lothians are
facing a far shorter wait than elsewhere in Scotland, according to
new figures revealed today.
On average an Edinburgh resident will be treated within 55 days,
almost twice as quickly as the national average waiting time of 102
days.
A performance table of average waiting times for treatment has
been published by the Scottish Executive revealing the differences
across each region for the first time.
One of the main reasons for the relatively short wait for hip
replacements in Edinburgh and the Lothians is said to be the pounds
