The United States has invited the foreign ministers of the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) to attend a signing ceremony for the
Israeli-PLO agreement on expanding Palestinian self-rule in the West
Bank.
The ceremony will be held at the White House and September 28 may
be the tentative date for it.
Secretary of State Warren Christopher will host a meeting with the
GCC foreign ministers in Washington instead of New York where it was
originally planned, said John Dinger, acting spokesman of the State
Department.
A U.S. official said most of the GCC countries have accepted the
invitation. But the official did not say which country has not
accepted it.
