Article: Yunnan to Pass China's First Law on Protecting Rare Trees

Yunnan Province in southwest China has worked out a regulation, the first of its kind in the country, to protect rare trees that will go into effect December 1.

Referred to as "Regulation on Protecting Rare Trees in Yunnan Province", the law is to give special protection or to allow for reasonable exploitation of rare trees.

Located in a subtropical part of China, Yunnan has a climate with temperate and frigid-temperate zones, and has tropical rain forests and mountainous grassy marshland, rich in valuable tree resources.
