The Shuikou Hydro-Electric Power Station, the biggest one in east China, is increasingly providing investment opportunities to its surrounding areas.

The areas around the power station have abundant water, mineral, and forestry resources. With an installed generating capacity of 1.4 million kw, the power station is able to provide sufficient electricity for the mining of natural resources and the development of energy-consuming projects.

Since the power station stored water in May 1995, it has improved the transportation on the Minjiang River, which runs across east China's Fujian Province. Boats of 500 dwt can now directly sail down the river to the Mawei Port in the province's capital of ...
