Article: Floods Ruin Cotton Harvest in Southern Turkey

Thousands of tons of cotton were feared ruined by strong floods over the weekend in Turkey's southern Antalya province, according to a statement issued today by the governor's office.

Harvested cotton stocked in warehouses has been largely destroyed, the statement said.

It did not say how much was destroyed. Some other products, which the statement did not name, were also ruined in Antalya, where about 20,000 tons of cotton had been expected to be produced this year.
