Article: ANC, FF To Discuss Afrikaner Self-Determination

The African National Congress (ANC) and the Freedom Front (FF) are considering to hold talks on Afrikaner self-determination after local government elections in November, the two parties said today.

In a joint statement issued here, both the ANC and the FF approached this issue with the determination to find a solution in the best interests of the country.

Preliminary talks on Afrikaner self-determination within the context of the accord on Afrikaner self-determination signed in April last year were held recently, the statement said.

Earlier reports said South Africa's Afrikaners' political and cultural groups were divided on their demand for an Afrikaner Volkstaat (white homeland).
