LARAMIE -- In an effort to resolve long-standing conflicts
between snowmobilers and cross-country skiers enjoying the Snowy
Range, a working group has developed a plan to separate the two at
trail entrances and approaches.
The Snowy Range Winter Use working group announced a new plan
Wednesday for the Green Rock parking area, which dead-ends Highway
130 in the winter above the town of Centennial. The plan creates a
separate parking area for skiers and gives snowmobilers and skiers
separate trail entrances.
The plan also establishes a boundary for motorized vehicles that
follows Highway 130 west to the Snowy Mountain Lodge and bans
snowmobiles south of the road.
