CHEYENNE -- The death of a proposed 2-mill property tax may mean
the birth of a special session.
Gov. Jim Geringer is hoping to meet with Democratic and
Republican leadership by next Monday to discuss a special session.
The governor's press secretary, Eric Curry, said the death
Thursday of House Bill 161, a 2-mill statewide property tax to
support education, has made Geringer more inclined to call a special
session.
"I would say that this is one of those things that makes him lean
more toward a special session," Curry said.
