CHEYENNE -- Two teachers from Carey Junior High competed Monday
in one of the most prestigious events in distance running.
They ran against athletes from around the world in what has
become one of the most famous races anywhere -- the Boston Marathon.
Devonna Reiner and Paula Egan-Wright finished in three hours,
fourty seven minutes and four seconds, and 3:49.43 respectively.
They raced against 6,371other women.
Catherine Ndereba of Kenya won the women's title in 2:26.12.
And if qualifying for the Boston Marathon wasn't enough, both of
them did it on their first try.
"I was relieved because I worked hard to get the time (3:40) and
it is really not fun running for a time," Reiner said.
