CHEYENNE -- A mild winter has prompted fewer skiers in
southeastern Wyoming and Colorado to hit the slopes this season.
At Snowy Range Ski Area west of Laramie, the season thus far has
been a success, although not as successful as last year.
"There is a decline in skiing (this season)," said Andrea Kern,
Director of Finances for the Snowy Range Ski Area.
"We have three major weekends -- the one between Christmas and
New Year's, Martin Luther King weekend and the President's Day
weekend. During all three weekends, we had bad storms hit the area
that closed the roads so no one could get up here."
