CHEYENNE -- School lunch prices at Cheyenne's public schools will
remain the same as last year.
Linda Willman, Laramie County School District 1 nutrition
services supervisor, recommended to the LCSD1 board of trustees
Monday night not to increase school lunch prices this year.
Last year's 12 percent price increase might have created more
revenue for the district, but fewer lunches were sold, she said.
Lunch sales decreased by 3.4 percent. The district sold 1,172,262
lunches during the 1996-97 school year. Only 1,132,721 lunches were
sold last year.
Although some of that is due to declining enrollments, Willman
also said the price increase had something to do with losing 39,541
lunch sales.
