CHEYENNE -- They sing songs, do crafts, go camping and do service
projects. They are Brownies, an arm of the Girl Scouts for girls in
grades 1-3.
Standing in a horseshoe formation, Brownie Troop 968 opened its
weekly meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, the Girl Scout
Promise, the "Brownie Smile Song" and "Rags," a song animated with
hand and body movements.
A few of the girls called for an encore of "Little Bunny Fu Fu,"
but none were brave enough to sing it solo.
Leader Judy DiRienzo and co-leader Monica Kluger, who have been
involved with Girl Scouts since childhood, separated the girls into
groups of four to work on a Thanksgiving craft -- construction-
paper turkeys.
