LARAMIE -- There was a time, say about 10 years ago, when going
to a downhill ski area meant one thing: downhill skiing. Everyone
skied on two fat boards and their heels stayed attached to the ski.
Things have changed.
Now there's downhill skiing, snowboarding, and telemark skiing.
Snowy Range Ski Area has also gone through a metamorphosis in those
10 years. Formerly known as the Medicine Bow Ski Area, the area once
boasted a single chair lift, two T-bar lifts, and a beginner's
mighty might lift.
Expansion of the area onto Corner Mountain added a new triple
chair. A special beginner's area was also opened with chair and
