Article: Taliban offers Bin Laden deal

AFGHANISTAN today declared a holy war against the United States as the ruling Taliban laid down its terms for the possible handover of terror suspect Osama Bin Laden.

Afghanistan has stalled over US demands that Bin Laden be extradited. But, according to Pakistan sources who have been involved in talks to broker a peace deal ahead of expected US reprisals, an agreement could be possible under certain conditions.

However, before it was even considered, the Taliban would demand international recognition, a lifting of UN sanctions imposed on the country and cash aid.

And they said they would only be prepared to consider handing over Bin Laden were he to be extradited to a neutral Islamic ...
