A SCOTLAND side brimming with passion and commitment recorded a
magnificent 22-3 win over the USA - ranked second in the world -
this afternoon.
The Scots outfought their bigger, more physical opponents and
withstood a second half onslaught to secure a result that augurs
well for next year's World Cup.
Scotland made a rousing start but twice in the opening five
minutes the hosts lost the ball in contact to the US pack.
There were eight minutes on the clock before the visitors
launched their first attack of any note. Blindside Becky Metzger set
off on a mazey run that carried play to within five metres of the
Scotland line. But the move foundered when the recycled ball was
