ORGANISERS of Edinburgh's Hogmanay fireworks spectacular today
revealed they have sought special advice for pet owners from the
city's Hospital for Small Animals.
The Seven Hills Fireworks display has come under fire from
Scotland's leading animal welfare group amid fears it will harm
wildlife.
Edinburgh City Council, which organises the city's celebrations
with Unique Events, has consulted the hospital to alert pet owners
to what is billed as the most spectacular display in Britain.
The hospital has advised that pet owners keep all pets indoors
during the three-minute display, which is due to herald the arrival
of 2002.
