China's youngest province of Hainan created 10 outstanding
achievements in the country's latest five-year plan.
The top-ten list for the Eighth Five-Year Plan (1991-95),
illustrate the progress made in the province in the first half of the
decade.
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Hainan experienced the fastest
development with an average annual growth rate of 18.5 percent over
the past five years.
It is among the largest investors in fix assets with a total sum
of 78 billion yuan.
Its agricultural development was rated the most rapid in the
country, at an annual growth rate of 12.2 percent.
