Article: Number of Visa Card Holders in Turkey Rises in

The number of Visa credit and electron card holders in Turkey increased by 138.8 percent to 5.14 million in 1995, Turkish Daily News reported today.

Visa International's General Manager for Turkey Gareth Hill said in Istanbul Wednesday that "what you have in Turkey is a huge consumer market the only big growth market for plastic cards in Europe."

Hill said that in 1995 Turkey moved up to fourth place from fifth among European nations in number of Visa card holders, surpassing Italy.
