Article: Argentinians Protest Planned Nuclear Waste Facility

About 1,300 people took part in a march in southern Argentina today to protest against the building of a nuclear waste facility in the region.

The demonstrators, including provincial and national legislators, traveled on foot and in more than 100 cars from Trelew, Puerto Madryn and other cities to the town of Gastre in southern Chubut province. Gastre is 450 kilometers from Trelew.

The march was organized by the Chubutan Antinuclear Movement and the Chubut Students Committee with the support of environmental organizations and provincial and national officials.
