Article: Quake Relief Work in Full Swing in Inner Mongolia

Relief work has gone into full swing in Baotou City, in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, where an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck at 11:32 a.m. Friday.

Local official sources said people in the quake-stricken area have recovered from the shock, society is in good order and most enterprises are operating normally.

Figures provided by the relief headquarters of the city show that by 8:00 a.m. today the quake had caused 15 deaths, 33 serious injuries and 208 light injuries.

All the major hospitals in the city have been mobilized for the relief work, sources at the headquarters said.
