Local and foreign tour operators in Tanzania have formed a
council
to look into their internal differences and chart out strategies to
face kenya in a major quest for equitable benefit and market share.
According to a report reaching here from Arusha, northern
Tanzania
today, Prof. Karim Hirji, a tourism consultant based here, was
unanimously peaked as interim chairman by a meeting of hoteliers,
hunters, airline operators, tour and travel agents there on Friday.
Prof. Karim told reporters that Tanzanian tourism was currently
seen as an appendage of kenyan tour packages and the operators
wanted
the situation reversed before thinking of cooperation on a regional
scale.
