Article: Shantou Bans Styrofoam-Made Food Boxes

Shantou City in southern China's Guangdong Province has banned the production, sale and use of styrofoam-made fast food boxes, a source of "white pollution" in the city.

At the same time, the city government advocated the use of paper boxes.

The ban went into effect June 1 and the city became the the country's first to impose such a ban.
