Article: Museveni Tours Kenya's Largest Port Of Mombasa

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni today underscored the importance of Kenya's Port of Mombasa for his country during his tour of the port city.

The Ugandan leader is on his second day of the Kenya tour which was boosted by his recent electoral success and aimed at enhancing economic ties among Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Museveni said the volume of the cargo should be increased to full capacity to fully explore the potential of the port, noting that the Kenyan port is currently handling 1.1 million tonnes of Ugandan transit cargo annually.

The Ugandan president also lauded the move by the Kenyan government to commercialise the port, saying it would improve its efficiency.
