Article: UK Public Sector Borrowing Stands at 3.6bn Pounds in June

The British government borrowed 3.6 billion pounds (5.6 billion US dollars) last month to cover the shortfall between spending and tax revenue, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Last month's data were up on June last year and well above the three billion pounds (4.7 billion US dollars) expected in the City.

In addition, May's public sector borrowing requirement (PSBR) was revised up by 300 million pounds (465 million US dollars).

Together this took the cumulative PSBR in the first three months of the financial year, excluding privatization proceeds, to 12 billion pounds (18.6 billion US dollars), up from 11.3 billion pounds (17.5 billion US dollars) ...
