Continued heavy rains have pushed water level of the Yangtze River
in the middle and lower reaches up to 2.5 meters above the danger
mark, officials with the State Flood-Relief And Drought-Control
Headquarters said today.
Zishui, Yuanshui, both tributaries of the mighty Yangtze River,
have experienced their biggest flood water peaks in 30 years, with
Zishui setting a flood peak record of 46.9 meters at 02:00 hours
today.
