Article: Sri Lankan Troops Kill 42 Tamil Rebels in Fighting

At least 42 Tamil rebels were killed and over 100 others injured in fighting between government troops and rebels of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in Northern province of Sri Lanka Friday evening, a military spokesman said here today.

The spokesman, Tar Dunuwille, said that one officer and 16 soldiers were killed and 36 soldiers were injured on the government side.
