The cold snap which descended last week on France and other
European countries claimed its seventh victim Saturday night, as the
temperature dropped to its lowest in 30 years in the northeastern
part of the country.
Charles Ziegler, a homeless man of 65 years old, died Saturday
night of hypothermia in a church house in Sarre-Union, Bas-Rhin in
eastern France, reported the Agence France-Presse (AFP).
A 29-year-old woman miraculously survived after she was found in
a
forest in Saone-et-Loire this morning, her temperature having
dropped
to 29 degrees.
The average temperature of northeast France dropped to minus 16
degrees centigrade Saturday night, with Strasbourg froze in minus 15
degrees, ...
