China's Sorrow - the still to be tamed Yellow River - has provided a flood of economic efficiency for the country over the past half century.

Experts have revealed that combined economic efficiency efforts along the river have saved China 1,260 billion yuan thanks to its painstaking efforts to harness the mighty waterway, the world's most silted river.

A report released by the Yellow River Water Conservation Committee, under the Ministry of Water Resources, spelled out the impact of water harnessing projects along the 5,464 kilometer long river.
