The three-party coalition of the Czech Republic won a majority of
seats in the Senate in Saturday's elections, according to official
results announced in the evening.
With all 81 constituencies declared, the coalition parties
secured
52 seats in the Senate.
The Civic Democratic Party of Prime Minister Vaclav Klaus, the
mainstay in the coalition, won 32 seats, followed by the strongest
opposition party, the Social Democratic Party, with 25.
