Article: Second Prime Minister Apologizes to King Sihanouk

Cambodian Second Prime Minister Hun Sen today made a public apology for reportedly violating the dignity of King Norodom Sihanouk.

"I seemed to be violating His Majesty the King's dignity and his credit in my proposal for granting amnesty to Ieng Sary," Hun Sen told a peace rally in the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh of the Cambodian Students and Youth Federation.

Ieng Sary, a former Khmer Rouge leader, was granted amnesty about a month after he broke away from his former ranks in August this year.
