Article: Zambia to Buy Maize for Food Reserve

The Zambian government is expected within the next two weeks to begin buying maize from farmers with the 10 billion Kwacha (eight million US Dollars) allocated to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).

FRA has already hired contractors to do the job, the local press today quoted Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Ministry Permanent Secretary Austin Sichenga as revealing.
