Article: Personal Computer Sales Up in Europe Last Year

Sales of personal computer were up 7.1 percent in Western Europe in 1996 to a total of 15.9 million units, the twice-weekly European Report reported today.

According to the consultancy firm International Data Corp(IDC), quoted by European Report, the growth was a result of heavier buying by large and medium-sized enterprises.

The IDC said these higher sales to the business sector helped offset the poor PC sales among the general public. ...
