Article: Japanese LDP Guideline on Foreign Policy Toward Asia-Pacific

Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Friday put forward its guideline on foreign policy towards the Asia-Pacific region, stressing the maintaining and strengthening of the Japan-U.S. security framework.

The guideline, which has been drawn up since 1994 by the LDP and was approved Friday, would serve as the basic principles of the party's foreign policy, said media reports.

Under the guideline, Japan will continue to strengthen its alliance with the United States and also establish multilateral security safeguard.
