Article: Water Level Down in Caspian Sea

The recent drop of the Caspian Sea's water level has prompted scientists to believe that the amount of water at the salt-water lake fluctuate periodically.

The Caspian Sea, the world's largest in-land lake of the kind, was found to be down an average of 20 centimeters in water level last year, reversing the continuous rise in previous years.

The discovery, said a report in the fortnightly Ecological Messenger magazine published here today, was made by scientists working with Azerbaijan's State Hydrology Committee.
