AMMAN Jordan's contracting industry is in recession, Jordan Times today quoted the Jordan Contractors Association (JCA) president Wael Touqan as saying.

Only 500 out of 1,200 JCA members are now employed, said the president. Private and major public share-holding companies are tendering projects requiring the participation of foreign companies and firms not involved in the contractor business, he added.
