Article: Action Plan for Tobacco Control in Africa

An action plan for tobacco control in Africa has been worked out at a just ended International Workshop on Tobacco Control, local radio reported today.

The action plan includes the adoption of comprehensive policies including legislature by every African country to reduce the social and economic use of tobacco for people's health.

It also calls for the provisional training for technical assistance to increase awareness and capacity among government ministers regarding the threat from tobacco use and from the tobacco industry that targets African populations, especially women and children.
