Article: TB Cases Rise as Attention Shifted to AIDS

Tanzania's tuberculosis (TB) cases have increased sharply as more attention have been shifted to combat HIV/AIDS infection, according to a survey by Southern Africa Control Initiative (SATCI).

The survey, made available today, says that at least one third of Tanzania's TB cases are indirectly attributable to HIV/AIDS infection. Tanzania is one of the countries where the onslaught on HIV/AIDS has caused more TB deaths.
