Israeli Trade Union resumed nationwide strike this morning as it
failed to reach an agreement with the Finance Ministry over pension
reform, Israel Radio reported.
Trade Union leader Amir Perez said today that he had informed
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Ezer Weizman
that the negotiations between striking workers and the Treasury have
fallen through.
Some 700,000 workers took part in the strike which was launched
Wednesday in protest against government plans for wages reform and
privatization. And today's strike will spread to workers of the
education system and public transportation.
