The French automaker Renault saw a 17.33 percent increase in sales in 1998 compared to 1997.

Renault's sales figures last year stood at 243.9 billion francs (about 41 billion U.S. dollars), compared to 207 billion francs ( 35 billion U.S. dollars) in 1997.
