Article: More People Donate Organs in North Italy

Three hundred and thirty two Italians donated their organs for transplant in 1998 in northern Italy , a 11.4 percent increase over the previous year.

Girolamo Sirchia, chairman of the northern organ transplant association, said in Milan that there were 18.5 donors per million people in north Italy, which ranked fourth in Europe.
